SESSION: The Score-P Community Project - An Interoperable Infrastructure for HPC Performance Analysis Tools
EVENT TYPE: Birds of a Feather
DATE: Thursday, 11/17, 12:15PM - 1:15PM
SESSION LEADERS: Andreas Knuepfer, Felix Wolf, Sameer Shende
ROOM: WSCC 2A/2B
ABSTRACT:
The Score-P project is a community effort for a unified parallel performance tool infrastructure that supports different analysis tools. At this BOF we will present the first public beta release of the Score-P Open Source package. We invite potential users and other tool developers for an informative overview, for feedback and for potential future collaborations. The main benefits of our community approach are: 1) better user acceptance, only one learning curve, 2) better interoperability of tools and simplified uniform installation 3) reduction of redundant functionality and development effort, and 4) joint user support and user training activities. The Score-P project was initiated by a number of leading performance tool groups and already works as common run-time measurement component for the established tools Scalasca, Vampir, Periscope, and TAU. It supports profile recording, event-trace collection, and comes with an on-line access interface and many more features.
